The discussion has started about having a 3rd block exchange. Everyone is welcome to take part in this. Please make all your posts on this exchange here, so all the information and comments would be here.

This is the block we are doing for the third green block exchange. see picture. Blocks need to be 12 1/2" X 12 1/2". May need to use a scant 1/4" seem(less than 1/4" is called a scant)

I couldn't stand to let these babies sit any longer. I played with them for a couple of weeks trying to come up with a combination of all three exchanges that I liked. No luck. No matter what I did, I was unhappy with the patterns created. The stars looked great with the blue blocks. The blue blocks looked great with the white blocks. But the stars with the white blocks just didn't look right to me. Finally the light bulb lit and I decided to make several smaller quilts out of the blocks. I decided to separate the blocks from the stars and I'm a happy camper now.

DONE!

Some did not show up as dark as they should be. Not sure why. Light from the window? Maybe because of the dark blocks close to the lighter green blocks. But they are done and going out on Monday

A couple of people have dropped out of the green block exchange.   For those of you who have already mailed your blocks, I will mail the extra blocks back to you.  If you haven't mailed your blocks yet, you might want to wait till next week and see if anyone else joins or drops out of the exchange.  As of right now, the count is at 8.

Finally finished. Made a couple of extras since the exchange is still open. Per Pam's suggestion I'm holding off on sending until after 4/30 when the exchange is closed and we'll know the final count needed.

 

On to Nina's block now.

I did not worry about the seams to much. I matched the points up with a pin. The I stitched the seem. It all came out ....hard to type it to explain it.....when you open and press it lines up.

 I finished my green blocks today.  If the count stays the same, we have 11 members to exchange blocks!   How's everyone else coming with their blocks?

OK..............CHERYL' S BLOCKS CAME THIS MORNING AND I DIVIDED THEM UP.......WANTED TO KEEP THEM ALL! BUT I CAN NOT BE A PIGGIE ABOUT IT....SO THEY ARE GOING INTO THE MAIL TOMORROW, FRIDAY......AM. POST HERE WHEN YOU GET YOURS. THANKS EVERYONE!

Got my first one done...do this enough times and I finally feel comfortable with it...LOL.

 

I'll try to do one a day to get these out of the way...so much to do so little time...but do very much enjoy it.

The block will be Comforts of Home, in scrappy greens, only the sections around the 9-patch will be reversed (in color) so there will be a white square around the 9-patch.  I will try to post a picture tomorrow if I can get a block made!   But let me know if you will be participating so I can get an accurate count.  Blocks will be due the end of May (or whenever completed) and will be mailed to me at:  Pam Artman, please send Pam a private message and she will send you her address. We do not want to post address to the public.
