BRRRRRRRR 6 degrees BELOW Zero tonight, snow and lots of blowing all day, with another 12 inches due tomorrow!!!!! Only 6 more days till I leave for Vegas!!!! oh yeah...bring it on!! Here are pics of the two quilts I've been trying to get done for the big birthdays this weekend!!!! Jadens princess quilt is for my niece who turned 6 this weekend (she is in the orange shirt, blue headband) and the Gracies Hannah Montana quilt is for my Great Niece who turns 5! They are so excited to have quilts, as THEY asked me to make them for them! I've still got to quilt Gracies yet, and then I need to make up 2 matching doll quilts to go with the dolls I'll get them! A few months back, my Great Niece Rorie (middle darling) loved her Princess quilts, so the tradition for birthdays got started! When I called to wish Jaden a happy birthday yesterday, she wanted to know if I got hers done!! Boy oh boy, these little minds don't forget a thing!!! So, Aunt Cheryl to the rescue!!! hahaha!!!! Hope everyone is staying nice and warm!!!
The quilts and the girls!! I know they will love and cherish their quilts for a long time. There's nothing that says love and comfort like a hand made quilt. What a special Aunt!
They are great Cheryl! ......but them little tykes are so much more adorable! They look really ornerier! Hummm, I wander where they get it from......???hehehe
We have a great time when we get together! Don't you love the headbands I bought them for the last party???? I Called them My Hippie Nieces all afternoon, and they got the biggest kick out of that!! In March I'm taking the 3 of them on the train to Chicago to the American Girl Store, to buy their dolls! I probably will have more fun than they will!! Never having daughters, it's so much fun to spend time with them, and Jaden and Gracie are true girly girls, and that is sooooo much fun!!
Hey, keep those fabric scraps. They make great doll dresses for the 18 inch dolls. I have 4 fabrics on the table for Stephanie's doll.
Both the quilts and the girls!! They'll treasure these quilts forever!
FYI - freezing here too.....woke to a -15* this morning with windchill of -35*.......great day for staying in and quilting!
Staying in today and quilting. Going to finish piecing my Quick Trip! Then bake some brownies for company that's coming for the weekend.
Brownies sound good! It is sunny here but below O brr.......I'm going out and pay a bill and check in with RSVP, then the store. Then home. I began working on my cancer quilt again. Lots of needle work before I construct it. But it is pink, I need to post some picks after while. Lots of hot tea to!!! Love the English breakfast tea.
Stay warm Nora, It's Freezing out, -25 below (before windchill) here this morning!!! I just drove to Grape Rd., Mishawaka, where my son works, to take him to lunch, and the roads are PURE PURE ice!!!! Then there were all the high school students who didn't have school today, out heading to the mall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad I'm back in the office, finally, and away from all that MESS!!! The Temps are rising.....it is now -3!!!!! And the Sun came out!!!!!!!!!!!!
