This a quilt that will go to my favorite quilter this week.  It is a queen size.  I have been working on it for a long time.  It is my copy of a quilt that I saw in a quilt shop in Kansas

Very Nice!

Joyce, you've been a quiltin' queen girl!  This is a very nice quilt, and someone will have a NICE Christmas this year!!  Keep up the GREAT Work!

The colors

You pick the best colors. This is so pretty. What a feeling one more project done.

I have so many UFOs.  It does feel good to have another one this far done

EXCUSE ME!!!

LOL.......don't do that to me! I saw the word Christmas and just about went into a coronary! Easter hasn't even gotten here yet Joyce! LOL......

beautiful, Joyce!

I love the colors in the blocks and I love the layout.  Its a nice change from a straight setting for sampler blocks.  Very nice!

the story behind this quilt---

All -

A few years ago, while a friend and I were at a folk music festival in Winfield, Kansas, we did our usual mini shop hop of the quilt shops in the area.   When we went to Sunflower Quilts in Derby, Kansas, we fell in love with the shop, the owner, the other ladies and this quilt....  The owner had constructed the quilt for a shop hop in the area for the year before.  It contained a block for all the shops in the hop and her setting.

To copy the quilt - my friend and I bought the pattern, the setting fabric along with the Sunflower Quilts block and planned to make up our own blocks to represent the other shops. in their shop hop  The fabric is mostly from Nancy Halvorsen's Christmas collections which blend through the years.  We found blocks on Quilters Cache and in quilt books and recreated the effect.

My friend finished hers for last Christmas, but I am just now getting mine done.  Better late than never!!   I will post it when it comes back from the quilter.  I want to show it in a quilt show in March.

If you ever get close, visit Janine!  Her shop is in Derby, Kansas and is very special!!  This design was hers.

Beautiful quilt Joyce

Another finish for you this year.  I am so jealous!  I can't seem to get anything finished.  I have a huge basket of quilt tops that I need to get quilted but haven't had the time to get them loaded on the machine.  I did get one of them loaded and it is almost finished but 1 out os 30 won't be missed from the basket :(  I guess I need to start quilting with my checkbook!

geeze......

Dr Diane....I know of this really great, recommended by many,  quilter, .... and she claims to perform miracles.....you may even know her......, she belongs to this great group called "ALL OUR QUILTS".... I think her name is .... um.... let's see.....oh yea.....SHARON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and I'll bet she'd love to get ahold of that checkbook!!!!  LOL!

Wow

Chery, you are so funny...Joyce I am so in love with this quilt. Sue is right you have a way with color. This is one going in my favorites since I know now how to do it. Thanks Mike for turning the lights on.
