Fourth Exchange blocks

Done. As you can see, I made identical blocks which resulted in an interesting effect. Looking at this pattern, you can create so many different effects depending on your color selection...I'm planning to put the four blocks I keep on each of the corners so that they blend with everyone else's blocks and the identical effect is lost.

The middle row of each block was a struggle but the end results of this pattern are worth it. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's blocks.

WOW!!!!

That is totally awsome! I don't know which color I like the best.....it all goes great together. It POPS! You did a great job Diane! I wish I had the time to do this one.....maybe next fall.....

Do you just make the block

Do you just make the block and post a picture online?  I am still a bit baffled on how this works?  Please forgive my slowness.

Renee

No rules on posting...

There's really no rules when it comes to posting images for the block exchanges. We share what we can to help each other out. You can post as much or as little as you want. I've learned so much from other members of previous exchanges when techniques are posted (memaw did an excellent one on matching points)...a picture is worth a thousand words...we do love seeing each others progress as well as the finished blocks for the block exchanges. But it is not a requirement.

There are a variety of way to post images to this website and it can be quite confusing. When you're ready to post a images for an exchange, the method is slightly different than posting other images that are not part of the exchange(a quilt for example). Give a holler and one of us will walk you through it. It's been described several times in other posts but gets lost over time. So best to wait 'til you're ready.

Hi Renee.    don't worry about being slow to learn the site.  It takes time to get used to things.   We LOVE to see other's quilts or blocks.  So anytime you can post your works, we love it.  As we each complete the blocks to be exchanged with one another, we usually post them here to encourage one another, and to get some feedback.   It seems that when we do these exchanges seeing someone post their items for the exchange usually gets the others of us itching to work on our own.

Have a great evening Renee.....and feel free to ask whatever questions you want....we are all here to help each other out.

p.s.   you asked a question about the exchange and how it works.....it is posted under a different blog....did you get find the answer I posted for you there?

Renee, the block exchange

When you take part in the exchange, you do the blocks like the instructions. It is important to have good blocks, meaning they finish the right size and that the point are good not prefect, but good.

Then you make blocks for as many of people are in the group.

Most people post the blocks they did before sending them on to the organizer of the exchange.

The organizer will get all the blocks from everyone and then mail back to each person, one of each block so you have a block from each person in the exchange.

They are great to get back in the mail, to see them all. It makes a wonderful scrap quilt.
