Sue...what are your thoughts. SInce it will be a completed quilt when received. Should we sign our blocks so she knows who made what....or leave it alone?
yes, I say let's sign them!! I'm so looking forward to getting plenty of blocks from everyone, and know that we'll have an awesome time watching Nina get her quilt!!!!! Several of us have had the chance to "chat" with Loes this weekend, and know how excited she is that we would take the time to do something like this for her and her daughter!! As soon as the quilt is finished, I'll post pictures for all to see, (except Loes, it's got to stay a surprise for you)...and I'll pay to send the quilt to the Netherlands!! Just send me the blocks....If need be, Nora and Betty aren't too far away, and I'm not afraid to take a road trip to see them, and beg for help!!!! LOL hugs from Indiana
There is no special pattern at all, you are open to your imagination, as long as the block measures 12-1/2 x 12-1/2 when done. if you join the group off of the main page, you'll see some directions that Judy put on the site. And when you're ready to send them out, just email me! Isn't this going to be awesome!!!! I just love the idea of doing a special quilt, for such a special little girl.
We have it ! LOL......count me in Cheryl, glad to help with anything you need. And as many blocks as you need to......dish it our way....I can handle it......LOL.........
Thanks soo much now when I get home from work today I will go into my quilting stash and start making blocks. I have made 11 baby quilts one for all of my grandchildren so childrens quilts I love to do.
Your the best for taking this project on. I will do my best to do my block this week. Her favorite colors are blue and pink so I have already looked in my stash.
whooo hooooo I have one Nina block completed! I am so pleased with how it turned out. Now I am off to my sewing machine to get another done. How can we post some blocks and still have them be secret?
Oh what a horrible thing to have to go to the fabric store! Kidding, Kidding......I have to go find a fun print myself. I haven't used my kid prints that I have....but I have one and a half blocks done. This is FUN
I am not sure I would recommend a Sharpie. I have had them bleed onto the fabric before. I usually use a permanent pen found in the quilting area at JoAnns. They come in different thicknesses for writing. Just sign somewhere in your block...but make sure it won't get cut off by the seam allowance. I don't plan on signing my block with big writing.....just small in triange that is there.
I've used the fine quilting pens also, just to sign a little signature! You are welcome to make as many blocks as you would like, as the size of the quilt will depend on how many we get! If everyone wants to make a few of them, that will be great, and I can fill in where needed, and also do the back side. I haven't checked to see who all has signed up to do them, but I will this weekend, and make sure that I send everyone my address so that you can send them to me, whenever you are ready!!
Thanks from the bottom of my heart also, for your generosity!!
p.s. and yes, you can post pics, I think that will be fun!!
I would like to paticipate in making a block for Nina. At this time, I will make one for sure, more if I am able. I will contact you later as to where to send it.
Thanks Lee Ann, that will be great!! Just private message me when you are ready, and i'll send the address on!!!!!
I had dinner tonight with my dear friend who is a quilt artist (she actually sells them for lots and lots of money) and she has offered to help me in any way I need her!!! God Bless friends....they are the greatest!

Hi everyone,
Neebie always full of ?'s. Sign the block fronts. Sounds like s dumb question after I asked it.
I run and own the site, this will be my first blick. I had to ask about signing it too!
Almost done with first block. Questions...

Maybe others can recommend some pens to use.
