I call these my 'pumpkin heads'! I found one just like this at a yard sale a couple months ago. When I saw it I knew I had to have it! I was certain the woman would ask some high price for it....like $20, but when I approached her and asked her what she wanted for her pumpkin she said..."oh, how about a dollar?". Before anyone overheard her price I said YES and snatched it up. I took him home and dissected him to make the pattern. Its not in a book. It was very OLD. You could see that no one used a ruler or rotary cutter for the original pants, collar and arms. So I perfected it. Even though the original one is no more I have made a half dozen already. Takes about 30 minutes. AND THEY ARE ADORABLE!!!!!!! Hope you like! I think they are intended to hang on your doorknob on Halloween night when you are giving out candy to the trick or treaters.
this is adorable!!! I bet you get lots of complements on it!
is so Cute!!! I love it when someone finds a good deal....Have a great Day...Booper
Do you have any instructions on how to do this? I LOVE IT. If you do and have it, you can email it to me and I will get it up for everyone to enjoy. This is really cute and would love to make it for my kids homes. Thanks for posting this great idea
ACTUALLY
I NEVER MAKE ONE EXACTLY THE SAME....THERE IS A PC OF WOOD ON THE INSIDE TO WHICH THE ARMS AND LEGS ARE STAPLES TO. IT HAS ONLY THREE PARTS. (WELL 4)
ONE PANTS, TWO ARMS, A COLLAR/BIB AND THE PLASTIC HEAD. i JUST KINDA WINGED IT SO DONT HAVE A TRUE PATTERN, I AM MAKING MORE TOMORROW (9 IN FACT) I WILL WRITE DOWN THE MEASURE MENTS AND SEE IF I CAN COME UP WITH A PATTERN FOR EVERYONE,
will finish 7 or 8 of these tomorrow!!! got all the "pants" sewn and the collar and arms cut out...just gotta do the stuffing and assembly....so fun!
Me too, me too! He is so cute. A real darling!
