This is another quilt that is made of flannel, I love flannel and to curl up in it. I will have to get the name of this book. The blocks are large with houses and trees. It is about full size. It is machine pieced and this was done with a long arm quilting machine.
I love this quilt. You did a beautiful job on it.
Thanks for sharing with us.

How did I miss this one? I really like the pattern and I bet it is warm! Nice job Sue.
This quilt is the one I use when I'm watching TV, reading or doing some hand quitting. Thank you for your nice comments, it is really nice to be under it.
Beautiful job Sue - it looks cozy too.
It looks so warm and comfy! It's also very pretty. Nice use of colors and nice job, Sue!!
I'm glad gems like this are floating to the top again. I too missed this one. What a wonderful pattern and I love the fabrics you chose.
Thank you for all your nice comments.
Sue, I so love going though all of the back blogs. If I didn't I would have missed this one. I love this pattern. This is a book that I think that I would like to buy. This reminds me some what of and Indian pattern? I love working with flannel too and the colors work well with this pattern. Great job
I'm glad you like this quilt Betty. Flannel is so great to curl up in, my favorite thing. When I don't feel good it is the first thing I do, it put that over me. Instant relaxing, you cann't be stressed under a flannel quilt, in fact any quilt. Isn't that why we do this.
I am in the process of doing a log cabin in flannel. The top is finished but I need to do the border and the backing. I have not decide if I will quilt it by hand or tie it. There's a lot to quilt in a log cabin if you are doing it by hand. I plan on posting it and maybe get some input so I know what to do. Flannel is one of my favorite fabrics to work with. I think I am going to have to do a scrappy with a Fancy rotary cutter that I purchased recently. But my UFO's are calling for now.
Flannel is not a material that will hold up over time, not like 100% regular cotton. The flannel quilts that we use everyday only last about 6 - 8 years. Then the flannel starts to get very thin. So I always machine quilt. Hand quilting, is saved for those special quilts. Also the material is to thick it would be hard to hand quilt it, unless you are planning on large stitches.
If you are going to tie a quilt, the batting has to be the right kind. Otherwise it will not hold up. So make sure you read your batting instructions. Each batting is different and holds up better with what you are planning on doing. There are some batting's that need to be quilted a few inches apart from each other.
That is what I do with my flannels. Also the borders, I try to keep them simple, mainly because they just don't last that long.
That is my 2 cents.
I can't wait to see this quilt done. Good luck.
Are wonderful to hold and cuddle with when you do not feel good or it is cold outside. Sue thank you so much for your input. I needed to hear this. I always freeze when it comes to borders and that is what holds me up with my UFOs. I have such an itch to do more flannels and finish my son's quilt. I' ll have to post my sewing room and some of my quilting along with my UFO's. After reading on this website I do not feel so alone on getting things done and feeling like I am out in left field. The people are so nice here and fun.
I'm so glad you like it here. We do have a lot of fun, and exchange information. Sometimes the littlest tip can make everything work out better.
It is nice to get to know you and I look forward to seeing more of your projects and hear about your life, ups and downs.
Take care,
