UFO day May 30th

in

I will put it on the calendar, so I can get something done. Hooray

Great!

I have heard that some people just have to pencil in a day to quilt, like an appointment - so that is what I am doing.

Great timing too, my quilt room is getting a major face lift (cleaning) pictures to come....

I will have all my UFO's front and center for May 30th will all supplies ready to finish these boogers!

Thank you for doing this and giving me a reason to schedule this VERY important task to do!

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

I'll be in my sewing room!!!

I plan to devote the entire day to working on UFOs!!  At the end of the day, it will be fun to post and see who has finished what!  Remember to take pictures and post!  My UFOs are stacked up, all organized and a list made telling me what needs to be done to which UFO.    Hopefully by then, I'll have my current projects done (at least one of them this week!) and my sewing table will be cleaned off, ready to go!!  This is exciting!  I agree Kim, we have to schedule time to do this... otherwise, it just gets pushed to the back burner over and over again.

@Pam

Yep, get out the movies, plug them in...get the rotary out and get'r done!  It will be a crock pot night and it will be a day filled with fun and a good feeling of knocking out some UFO's! (Always wanted to say that)

And right, pictures, pictures, pictures - will be posting them the next day!  WooHoo - I'm excited!

Let's party with Me, Myself and I! Yippee!!!

Break out the M&M's too! :D

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

oh definitely the M&Ms!!

Gotta have peanut M&Ms!!!  And I always play the oldies station (no tv in my sewing room yet!)    And the UFOs will definitely be PIPs!! (projects in progress!!)

Peanut M&M's

Yes, Peanut is a must - got to watch our figures, have that protein with our Vitamin C (chocolate).  Good square snack - protein and vegetables...Yum, Yum!

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

Where's Nora

Nora is always suggesting the M&M's. When I saw your post, it reminded me I have not seen anything from her. She is always making suggestions about Choc. Have anyone heard from her?

portable dvd player

Hey ladies......I have a portable dvd player.  I usually watch something that I have watched numerous times, so that I can listen while I sew.  They aren't to much money Pam, maybe you could invest in one of those.  I want a rolly chair for my sewing space.  Right now I just have kitchen chair.  I am hoping that for an upcoming birthday I will get one from hubby.   I won't be working on my ufo's all day.......there is a special event at my local quilt shop, so I will go to that in the morning, and then I will work on my ufo's.  It would be great if hubby also gave me a digital camera.......other wise I have to borrow my son's and he thinks I am "showing off"  when I post my quilts......so he doesn't really like me using it.  Too bad he doesn't realzie  we ALL post Our Quilts.

Son and pictures...hummmmmmmm

Ok, Judy, just give us your son's email address and we will take care of this for ya, you don't even need to sign the contract, we're friends here.  LOL

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

Judy,

Tell your son that here we talk about our quilts and what we are sewing, get advice, tips, pointers, and learn a lot.  And when someone is working on a quilt, we ALL want to see it when it's done.  Tell him it HELPS the rest of us, so you are really doing a SERVICE by posting your pics!!!!   (hey, that works for me!!)

Great answer Judy...

But I'll still vote to use the contract idea if he won't listen to that explanation, OK?

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

great

Mostly my son got mad when I borrowed his camera (while he was at school) without permission.  That is what kind of set him off in the first place about using the camera for my quilts.  I apologized to him for using it without permission, and then kind of reminded him of how many of MY things he uses without asking......my Christmas present dvd player.....my television in my room.......the everyday dishes I got as a Mother's day gift.   He sees me on this site, so he knows we talk about quilts and we all post photos.......but you know teens can sometimes be tempremental.

@ Judy

DUH! Teens are always tempermental.  Wow, the way you described the experience, it was just like at my house when my GIRLS still lived at home. hehehehehe

Teens, can't live with them, can't live without them!

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

jump start

I worked on two of my UFO's today.  Finished all the machine quilting on a Christmas panel I got...and I worked on another Christmas project that has been sitting.  Looks like I might just have Christmas in July after all.....my projects will be done!

ME??

I'm here.....just busy shaking off the drugs! LOL....Changed them again so It's been ruff. Back to watching my grandson. Keeping up with Jim on looking for a job. Keeping up with Drew and his hours. Hey Sue, have you had your vitaimn D levels checked?? Average is between 60-70. Low range is 33 to 100. Mine was 13......I am so deficiant, they have me on D-3   1,000mg's. I started taking them 5 days ago and it is helping the ole Fibro.....beleive it or not! I still gave pain but not as much......let me know....and my sugar is 11 points higher thna they want to see. So I have to be careful on it.........But I'm here and still kicking......

Nora

I Nora, glad to hear you are OK, busy with life. The vitamin D my Doctor has me on 5,000 mg a day, because mine was very low also. She also give me Vitamin B shots, that seems to help also.

Nora

Glad to hear you are feeling better!  Sounds like stress is getting the best of you, which is understandable.  I'm sure they told you a little bit of sun also helps the Vitamin D in your body.  Please take care, and don't stress about the small stuff.  I know there is bigger stuff in your life right now, but have some faith, and just know when one door is closed a window will open. Take care of yourself, okay?

D's

maybe I should take more than one grand! LOL.....Sue, do I need to take magnesium with this? or is that what the 3 is for on the D-3? They didn't tell me anything but take D-3@ 1,000.

Thanks Summer....I'm working on it..........Nora

vitamin d-3

http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/ is a website that gives you a little information that might help you.  From reading the chemical part on D3, I dont see any magnesium included in this Vitamin.  There are several sites on D3, just google D3.   I wish I could help you more, but it's not my expertise.

make mine DARK.....

........chocolate! LOL......but then any kind would be good. I need to stick around and sew that day. So I will be there....here.....

@ Memaw

I really think you hit it on the head with the solution being Vit. C (chocolate)...

Being a vegetable and yummy at that - Vit. C (chocolate) combined with protein (M&M's Peanut) will give your system a boost that would get ANYONE through a feathered star quilt in one day!

And at this time of year, when the weather is cold, hot, cold - you need MORE Vit. C (chocolate) to ward off ANY spring cold - no fun to be sick and trying to get rid of UFO's too! LOL

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

Vit D

Nora, I don't know what D-3 is. I take 5,000 mg of Vit. D and then have shots of Vit. B. I do take a mult vit. also. I hope this helps

ok fellow UFO aliens

alrighty my friends.  Our UFO day is fast approaching.  This weekend at JoAnn's they are having a sale.  Figure out what supplies you need, like thread, batting, fabric.....whatever you may need and go to the store and get it.   Stop by the local grocery store and pick up your M&M's and beverage of choice.  Better buy two bags of M&M's.  One for now...and one for the 30th.    No excuses now.......plan ahead.   =)

UFO Day

What a great idea.....But I like it when you guys called it PIP's That what I have......I will try to get to the Pip's on that day....after the wedding that I need to be at....I have made a Picnic basket with a lid and hope to fill it with cool stuff.....My nephew Matt will be getting married to a really nice girl...Pretty too....But I will try to get at some of the UFOs(Pip's) and may have to post them at a later date?...Have fun everybody and What a great idea!!!!!          Ü.........Happy quilting...Boop

Sue

The D-3 I'll have to check the label.....not sure what the 3 is for. Booper I went to see doc yesterday, my sugar is 6.6 if it gets above 7.0, then we will treat for suar diabeties. But for now, it is exercise, and doing with out many foods I love. But the fruits are great, the veggies are 2. I just miss the sugary stuff! LOL....But He was excited that I lost three pounds! That was in the late afternoon, and with clothes and shoes on..........But I am excited for that much!

UFO Day! - Tomorrow!!!

OK! I have idetified my UFO for tomorrow (5/30/09) unfortunately, I will have to complete the whole thing!  My Un-Finished Object is my Quilt Room.  I will be taking before & after pictures - as embarrased I will be - I'm sure it will feel good to have it done and then be able to get to the REAL UFO's! LOL :-)

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

I am here to sew all day

Ok, I have the radio on to the 60's, my cup of tea so about ready to get started. Hubby is gone for most of the day so I'm going to get going. I have all the blocks done on one quilt, so my hope is to lay it all out and start sewing it together. It would be soo cool to get this top done today.

Pictures....

Can't wait to see them all! We have a family wedding to go to......nephew is getting married. Have a cold so I am hoping I feel better real soon! LOL....Don't want to miss this one!

Getting Started soon!

Well, it is getting time to start my UFO day - with camera in hand, I am getting to work.  Check out my album tomorrow for glorious pictures of my Cleaned up Quilt room (that's my UFO project).  Dinner is in the crock pot, I am ready to tackle this monster!  Pray for me as I enter this mess!!!

Happy Quilt'n! ~ Kim :-)

Kim, great project

Good Luck in the war of the quilt room. Too much stuff for so little space.

Here I go

Ok.....it is noon, and I just got back from a special "thing" at the local quilt shop.  I won a $25.00 book!!  Sue there was a lady at this massive quilt event that looked sooo much like your picture I wanted to go up and ask if she was Sue!  (you)  but I didn't.   I am off to my sewing machine.
