I pieced this quilt in India before we came home in 2007. It is called "Almost a Flower Garden." I got the pattern from McCall's Quilting website. The pattern is by Darlene Zimmerman.

I love tablerunners. This is from a pattern I bought at a quilt shop in Virginia last year. It is a quilt-as-you-go by Sandi Ray.
Very nice Chris!!

The quilt is beautiful and looks a lot easier than a real flower garden!  And I love, love, love the table runner!!  Very pretty!!

Thanks for your comments.

Thanks for your comments.  The tablerunner is made mostly of pieces of fabric I picked up at a quilt shop.  I'm sure you know the kind--take a plastic ziploc bag and stuff it as full as you can of scraps.  I can really get a lot in one of those bags.  The beiges were already cut into strips for me.  The border fabric was left over from being the border of a big autumn quilt I made two years ago.  I quilt on a budget!

stunning

the quilts are gorgeous. I could picture myself snuggled up with a good book under the first quilt.   the table runner wouldn't quite cover me up.  Well one leg maybe

I get carried away with tablerunners sometimes.  They don't take long to make and it's like instant gratification.  Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for the positive words.  I'm not much for chatting online, but I'll think about that.  I appreciate the encouragement.

Beautiful

Hi Chris,

I'm Loes and I live in The Netherlands. Your quilts are very beautiful. The Almost a Flower Garden is very beautiful. I want to make a tabel runner by hand this summer. But now I have to work on Nina's quilt. It's a quilt to play outside the house.

Just to get to know you better

Loes, I'm so glad you commented on my quilts.  My husband and I have been to the Netherlands several times, usually as a stopover on the way home from India to the U.S.  We would stay at a Tulip Inn in Amsterdam for one or two nights and then continue our journey.  We loved being there in the spring.  I've noticed several quilters from the Netherlands in quilting books and magazines.  I really like their work.

I have a sister named Nina.  We pronounce it "Ni - na", not Nee-na.  She is also a quilter and has done wonderful work.  Her most fabulous quilt was a king-size sampler quilt made with batiks.  It is gorgeous.  My quilts tend to be more everyday.  My daughter quilts too.  So the three of us enjoy each other's work and are always ready to give advice when asked for it.

Thanks for your compliments.  I appreciate them.

Hi Chris

When you are in The Netherlands again, maby we could met eachother.

Very pretty quilt.  I'm a sucker for a very traditional quilt.  This will be an heirloom!

Well, I don't know if it

Well, I don't know if it will be an heirloom, but it did turn out nice.  I learned a lot doing that quilt, especially about setting triangles.  Thanks for the positive feedback on it.  It's nice to see a man quilting, I'm hoping I can get my husband involved more after we retire.  He's already learned a lot from observation the last eleven years!
