I'm trying to use nice bright colors for Nina. Hope this is what Loes had in mind. But no more paper piecing (guffaw). Although I love the effect, I just do NOT enjoy the process...ah well it was worth it in this case.
I have one block done of four different hearts. Each heart is different colors. pinks, greens, blues, and purples. I started another paper pieced block and I spelled out her name. Each letter is in a heart. Not sure if I will be able to post photos. Camera issues.
If I have time, I copied patterns of a cat and a bunny. They too are paper pieced. Lots of work, but they look adorable
paper piece never ever have I tried that lol. They are all wonderful I'm sure , mine are going to have butterflies lots of different colored butterflies.
I found some in a coloring book, and a fairy.......not sure what I want to do....I still need to work my green blocks! This weekend will be sewing unless I bring the old singer girl down to my Daughters and sew.......
I have this book, and she is coming to our quilt club next month. I'm all signed up to take a class from her, can't wait. The block is prefect. for a little girl.
You can't tell in this pic but the butterflies were trapuntoed so they would pop out. I had a do over on the first butterfly when I forgot the stabilzer on the back...lol.
I love them!!!!! The are just beautiful!!!!! I am soooo looking forward to finding time to get mine done!! Dad got moved out of ICU this afternoon, so maybe, just maybe I'll find a little bit of time this weekend!!
I can't wait to see all our blocks together. Such variety!
I visited Nina's site yesterday and viewed the pictures. I am glad you are translating her progress here!! She is one brave little girl as are you! It must tear your heart out when she cries.
My plan is to get my block done in the next couple of days. Mike is not sure when he can come over. With the changes his doing, he is going a little nuts. I did not help any by messing up on my end and not being able to get on the site. Poor Mike, this time I'm driving him nuts.
What a pleasant surprise to get your blocks today, and once again, THEY ARE BEAUATIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Girls...these blocks are so cool in person, I really wish everyone could see them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love the butterflies~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
well after today I will have afternoons to sew. Jim got the word yesterday that he now officially laid off. At least for a month or so. We hope things pick up by then.So after I get Mo's pants hemmed today, I will start on the blocks.
I'm so sorry to hear that Jim will be laid off. But you're not the only one. Also my husbandTheo and my brother René in England lost their jobs.
I hope and pray there'll be come better times.
I'm sorry that your hubby has lost his job. How long has he been out of work? Does he have some idea if he will be called back or is this a permanent lay off. There are so many people. I hope the best for you all. My hubby was laid off in Jan. but he is going to retire, so this is not a problem for us.
They are talking three weeks, but who knows. Our GM Plant here in Fort Wayne is off for 11 weeks now. I'm a praying, and he is busy building things and planting our hedges for privacy. So we are hanging in there. Going to a friends home tonight for dinner. It will be nice to get out with adults. We never go away from home to dinnner......so it will be a treat!
Loes....you hang in there to......our prayers are with everyone.
Iam truly sorry your husband is laid off. My husband Bob is a third generaton Boilermaker/welder. He works on units at our nuclear plants and refineries. With product energy. In this line of work, he is often laid off for months at a time. It seems as though you start to get bak on your feet and then then he's laid off again. Not a pleasant way to live life. It always seems to be feast or famon. So if you ever want to talk, I am hear for you. Just remember that thigs will get better.
