 This is the split nine patch block, really easy!   These are NOT my quilts, but pictures from magazines and a book.   The green picture is from the book "Quick and Easy Quiltmaking" and is actually a 16 patch (4 x 4).    I gotta make me one of these!!

I like this one, too

I have seen many variations of this one.  I even bought a book the other day because of a pattern for this one - I plan to make it out of some of my batik fabrics.  Someday..........LOL
