Started this quilt top in the 1980's and didn't finish until the mid 1990's. It still isn't quilted. I have no idea where I got the pattern from.

I think I may have a few more kaleidoscope & needle star blocks done, I'll look and then take those pictures. As you can see from the blocks that I have in my profile, that I have made several blocks. Now, how to get them in one quilt top? I don't want to put them in rolls with slashing. I will like to come up with something that also has symmetry or kaleidoscropes in them. When I get my cast off my foot this is the first project I would like to complete. Does anyone have any ideas?  I do have to get a picture of one more kaleidoscopes, that I have done.

Lone Star Quilt

I had this quilt in 2001. It was to hang on a big wall at work, by the time I was done with it, I no longer worked there. It is a large wall hanging to be sure. Now I do not have a place to hang it, mainly because it is purple. I got this pattern from the book "Better Homes and Gardens, Creative American Quilting" I had trouble with all the triangles and working with bias. This was a hard quilt to do.

Quilted Basket Lining

This was something I cross stitched. When I was done putting this together I decided to make a lining with the leftover fabric. I love to be able to use more than one craft on something I make. The bottom photo shows how the lining stands alone.

9 Patch........the beginning

This is the piecing for a Disappearing 9 Patch

1.  Cut squares your desired size (I personally prefer 3 1/2" to 4") then sew your 9 patch unit.

2. Cut in half in both horizontal and vertical.

3. Twist and turn the cut sections then sew back together.

Finally finished!

This is my first orginal design using Electric Quilt. I started it in October 2006 and finally finished it in April 2008 (it was packed up for half a year while we debated a move to Alabama). We tabled that idea when the housing market went south without us. And, thankfully, all the quilting goodies could be unpacked again.

Space Tree of Life

This is a small wall hanging that I made for my son when he was a teenager. I used the "Tree of Life" pattern , and used material to give it an outerspace theme. At the time there was alot of outerspace movies that he loved. I wanted the leaves on the tree to glow in the moon lite so I used a white with a shine on it. Then I used material that had planets on it.

Black and Red

So, here is the quilt top of my Red and Black quilt.  I found the pattern in a book that I don't even remember the name of now, but with some digging I should be able to find it if anyone wants it.  It is composed of 9 patches made of blocks and half square triangles.  It was really quite easy to do.  I finished it with a red border, black binding and a red and black backing.  I quilted it on my mom's long arm machine in a red and cream varigated thread.  One of these days I'll take a picture of the finished piece.  I am considering entering this quilt int

Sampler quilt

 This is the sampler quilt that I teach in one of my classes.  I start with the 9-patch block and progress each week to a harder block, ending with the appliqued block in the lower right hand corner.  At the end of the class, they have the skills to pick up any pattern they see and make it!

Houses and Trees

This is another quilt that is made of flannel, I love flannel and to curl up in it. I will have to get the name of this book. The blocks are large with houses and trees. It is about full size. It is machine pieced and this was done with a long arm quilting machine.

I found one pair!

Well it did not take long. Easy pattern. I lined them with flannel. They are normally lined with fleece. And I can add a button on the cuff to keep it down or stay stitch them down.

If there is a pocket or an emblem, you can fussy cut it into the mitten. I have a buddy at church that LOVES to golf.....Mittens for winter golfing. Last year we gave him orange golf balls.
