Hi Barbara,
I live in the Rochester Area also - maybe we go to some of the same quilt groups? If you still frequent this site, please add me to your friends list, maybe we could support each other.

Hi Barbara,
Welcome to our site. I am also a member of the Genesee Quilt Guild. It is a great group and a great to find out what is going on in the quilting community. If you have any pictures of your Lone Star quilt, even if it is not done. Maybe we can help, get you going. I also did a lone star, I will have to look at see if it is on my profile, if it isn't I will get a picture up. That is a hard pattern to do, I had trouble with all the triangles so it would come out right.
Have you finished or done any other quilts?
I look forward to getting to know you more.

The most I have done so far for my Lone Star Quilt is purchase the fabric and I do have a picture of the pattern from a magazine that I am going to duplicate as far as the actual star goes. I can bring a picture to the next meeting at Genesee Valley Quilt Guild on October 16th.
What I need most is encouragement and motivation to "get going" on the project. ...and ideas! Maybe we could meet at a specific "alphabet table".
Years ago I made a twin size Trip Around the World, Sunshine and Shadow style--this one is well loved by my 17 year old and for that many years as well. I have also completed an Irish Chain and a hand pieced and hand quilted unfinished sampler. I prefer to hand piece but there is no way I will hand piece straight lines such as in the quilts I have completed.
