Thanks, Chery for becoming my buddy  ü  I live about four miles west of Ligonier, just north off 6.  We built a Cape Cod about 20 years ago on about 3 acres 6 will take us straight to I 69 , then south to Auburn exit where sis live and the Quilt show will be. I will be looking forward to it as well.

Chery, you will have to excuse me here, I hope that I am in the correct place. I am having difficulty finding my way around in this maze! I would like to invite you to be on my buddy list, but how? And also invite you to drive with me to Auburn in Oct. for the  RSVP Quilt show. that Nora is involved with. If you pass your address to Nora for a flyer she can send the info to you. It will have all the qreat classes offered and other activities. I had so much fun with sis last year, I know it is a quite a drive from S. Bend to here and from here about another hour.  Just a thought    Betty

Finally, things are settling down a bit, and I'm thinking may get back to normal soon!  It seems like ages that I've had a chance to do any quiltling, and there is quite a bit for me to get moving on!  I think that for the last few months I have put everything on hold, so now it's time to think about me for a bit!!  Here is an updated picture of the girls!  I flew down to Naples last week for Lyla's baptism and spent a few days before hand spoiling her rotten!  I miss her already!!  It's amazing how fast you fall in love with these little ones!!  This week

Our First Official Family Picture as Grammy and Grampy

I'm still on my Grammy high, as you can tell!!  This picture was Christmas day at my sister in laws house, and the kids were able to stop by for a quick visit before heading off to another celebration at Gretchens family!  We get to spoil them all rotten Sunday, all to ourselves!!  I truely miss having my oldest son and his wife and daughter here, but will be heading back down to Naples mid January, (thanks to Santa) to spend a few days with them!  The kids camera wouldn't work Christmas morning, so no pics from them!!  :(  But I did hook up my webcam finally,

Our newest granddaughter!

Ms Lia arrived this morning via c-section to our world!  She weighed in at 8lbs, 3 oz and 21 inches long!  Lia and Mom are doing great!!   And so is Daddy!!  I'm having trouble posting the pics tonight, so I'll try add them later!!  Grandparenthood is the Greatest Gift from God!!

The Kaliedoscope Learing Lesson Quilt

WOW!!!!  I finally sat down this weekend and worked on tone of the  kaliedoscope blocks I did way way .... how long ago?? 

Anyway, one of my dear friends saw this block this summer and fell in love with it, so I finally worked on it, and finished the top!!   I only hope it doesn't take as long to have it quilted as it did to finish the top!!  But since it's going to be a birthday/christmas present, I won't wait!

Well, staying home from work today, due to feeling kinda fluey, and having a leek in the roof, coming through my ceiling in the living room, allowed me to finish up the top to the first granddaughter quilt...The picture is not the greatest....good camera had a dead battery, and my phone does NOT take good photos as you can tell...but until I can get a better picture here it is!!!!  Betty and Nora, remember I said one of the quilts we saw had given me an idea....what do ya think???  The colors in the quilt are pretty cool....the pastels in the center, then the brighter colors in th

Well, life here in Indiana, is somewhat getting back to normal, and I was able to sit down today and finally work on Nina's quilt!  I'll start by apologizing to everyone who worked so hard on getting the blocks to me in such a timely manner, and my not being able to work on this quilt as I hoped!  But we are finally on our way!  The picture quality is not the greatest, had to use my cell phone, as the charger on my camera is dead!!  But, all I have to do this week is put the border on (the piece of really cool pink/purple fabric at the top of the picture), and then drop

Quilt made quickly for my niece Nicholes baby shower for baby Chase due in August

Well, I awoke bright and early today to finish the binding on Nichole and baby to be "Chase" quilt for the shower which was at 1 today!!  Her theme is Winnie the Pooh, and she enjoyed helping pick out some of the fabrics!  It was the first time I"ve done the pinwheel blocks, and I had alot of fun adding alot of color into all of it!!  Boy have baby items changed in the 30 years since I've had my youngest!!!!  It's amazing how cool new baby products are!!

You might remember a few posts back, where I put balloons into one of the blog posts, wishing a happy birthday to ... I think it was Joyce ... and someone thought it was a block for Nina's quilt.....well....here is a real block for Nina's quilt...the balloons!  Hope she'll like them!!

I am so glad I live close to Nora, because I GOT MY BLUE BLOCKS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ladies, they are beautiful, and thank you so much for everything that you've put into them!!!!  Nora, I noticed that I SHORTED YOU POSTAGE on my envelope......dang....I'm so sorry, I'm gonna have to yell at the postage lady in my office!!!  And I will forward you the $.34 !!!  mmmmm  maybe not....it's going to cost me more to send it to you than that, so how bout I give it to you in Shipshy when we meet???

I'm teaching myself how to applique and to use the different stitches on my sewing machine!  I figure I've wasted enough time not learning the stitches, one of them being the blanket stitch!!!  Plus I got a little tired of still seeing the fall table runner, that adorns the coffee table in the living room, and I figured Valentines Day was a good time to try out and practice on these skills!!  I'm not sure how well the pics will turn out, but instead of quilting it, I used the little heart stitch that my machine has all over the top!!    I still have alot to lea
