About You:

I retired after 31 years with the Federal government on 3 January 2008. My spouse passed away in August 2008 and I moved to Springfield, Mo. We have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Unfortunately none of our kids or grands live in Missouri, but on the bright side, I get to travel a lot.

I love to piece quilt tops. I especially like to applique by machine. Have had hand surgery on both hands and am not able to hold needle (can't feel it) long enough to hand quilt. My job transferred me to St Louis, Mo in 1995 and I took quilting classes to fill my time as I had no friends or family there. When I was a child I helped both my Grandmothers tie quilts, but I prefer long arm quilting the best. My sister and I have very recently purchased a Little Gracie quilting frame with a Baby Lock quiling machine and are learning how to use it.

I read a lot of mysteries and semi-romances. I have become hooked on TV especially the CSI showes and I love the Biggest Looser show. I worked 2nd shift so TV was not part of my life before now. I do volunteer work with the Angel Food Ministeries and am active in veterans organizations.

I love the site. Was on chat room today and learned a lot from Sue and Judy. I think it's neat how quilters are always willing to share their knowledge, and their patterns.

Hi,

Welcome to the web site, and we are happy to have you join us. We will not throw you out, but hopefully get you back to finishing some of these.

There is always something going on here. Members posting new projects all the time. Learning from each other, are second block exchange that you could join in on. Of course the lessons for the star quilt which is always an on going event. Some people are talking about a retreat. Venting, when we have problems with quilting and life. We are also making blocks to be put together to raise money for cancer.

Mike (admin, also my son) is working on adding a chat room here. There will always be new additions to the site.

We have a wonderful time, and hope that you feel like you can add to the group.If you have any questions, all of us are here to help. At first you may not understand how everything works. You can also you contact us, but sometimes it maybe just a easy to ask all of us on any of the simple questions. We are here to help you enjoy this site as much as we can.

Thanks for the nice welcome. I've always been told there is no such thing as a stupid question so here is the first of many that I will probably ask. I really don't know much about blogs, chat rooms or anything like them. What is a BLOG and what kind of information do you put in it.

Ruth, welcome to all our quilts! I think you will like it here, there are a ton of great people who have quilting experience all over the board!! We love to see pictures if you want of your work also!! The chat room has been really a nice addition recently to the all our quilt site which is quite cool! Old block from lady in Arkansas

A friend in Arkansas sent me this picture wondering if I had the pattern for it. I don't remember ever seeing this block before. Does anyone know the name of this block or have the pattern they would share? Thanks for any information you can give.

Log cabin

Made for a 12 year old boy. Didn't want the typical light and dark so used a used a light, medium and dark of light and dark blues/purple. Was surprised when I put it together and got an illusion of a graph line through the quilt.
