Lee Ann, nice to meet you too.  There're a lot of quilters in OKC, you just have to find them.  Someday I hope to join a guild somewhere, but that will have a wait a while until we finally retire.  Sounds like you're an outdoor person, there's been too much rain this month to do much outdoors, but I'm looking at our yard thinking about some things I would like to do there.  Of course, there's plenty of quilting to do inside!

This is my block for Nina.  Nothing fancy obviously, but cheerful I think.  Can anyone give me any ideas how to hand applique around the edges?  It is fused to the block, but I would like to add hand stitching to the edges.  I have seen websites on the blanket stitch or button hole stitch.  Any suggestions?

I finally finished this quilt for my Marine son and gave it to him for Christmas.

I finally finished this quilt for my son and gave it to him for Christmas. The border on the front and backing is from Windham fabrics, Old Glory series. The fabric pattern doesn't seem to show well in the photos, but it is of an eagle holding the American flag.

I have been working on a quilt for a very special friend.  His name is Lonnie.  He has been the strong man in many people's lives, old and young. But now, he needs someone to be strong and give back to him.  So here's my way of saying thank you, Lonnie.  We love you!  Get well soon!
